About The Position

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping all equipment in good repair with minimal downtime by performing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management. The role supports the improvement of engineering services for both guests and associates. This position requires the ability to operate independently, analyze problems, and implement solutions with available resources to a high degree of quality. The technician must maintain accurate completion and task records and set an example of continuous self-development. Key duties include repairing plumbing, electrical equipment, and hardware, as well as maintaining tools and equipment. The technician will also monitor systems, understand emergency procedures, observe energy usage, and act to resolve emergencies and ensure a safe work environment. Maintaining logs, cleaning engineering areas, and ensuring necessary materials are available are also crucial aspects of the role. The position requires adherence to all safety and security procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and the M&R Employee Handbook. Responsibilities

  • Repair plumbing, electrical equipment, and hardware, including lamps, air conditioners, and cosmetic items.
  • Clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel.
  • Ensure all tools used are returned to the shop and secured in proper storage.
  • Protect and maintain assigned tool pouch and its tools.
  • Monitor systems as necessary to be fully informed of system operation and to handle emergencies.
  • Have a working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems.
  • Observe and analyze energy and utilities usage and look for ways to conserve energy.
  • Be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during an emergency.
  • Act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.
  • Inform Engineering Management of any emergencies.
  • Be aware of all existing departmental Job Safety Analysis and strive to work in an accident-free manner and create a safe work environment for others.
  • Continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guests and take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions.
  • Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units.
