About The Position

The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with the general maintenance of the hotel, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. This role involves replacing air conditioner filters and tending to air conditioners, cooling towers, and boilers to ensure guests have heat, cool air, and hot water. The position also requires maintaining high standards of guest service, responding to guest requests and complaints courteously and promptly, and possessing a comprehensive knowledge of the English language for effective communication. Additionally, the role demands adherence to all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures, attending required meetings, and demonstrating personal effectiveness through thoroughness, professionalism, and adaptability to high-pressure situations. The associate is expected to take responsibility for their own growth and development, and to conduct themselves professionally at all times, setting a standard for other associates. Communication is key, involving understanding and conveying the StepStone Mission and Core Values, expressing ideas clearly, actively listening, and timely communication of company information. Conflict resolution and respect for colleagues are also important aspects of the role. Specific to the role, the engineer must have comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions, as well as an understanding of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations. Good mathematical and computer skills are also necessary.

Requirements

  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.

  • CPR training and first aid training preferred.

Responsibilities
