About The Position

S&L Hospitality, along with this location, is accepting applications for a part-time hybrid role which will consist of maintenance and shuttle driver responsibilities. This position will primarily be scheduled on high volume business days including weekends and due to requests for shuttle services for our guests, may consist of late evening hours. More cross-training opportunities may be available depending on the candidate and their own availability. This position is approximately 10-15 hours in maintenance plus additional hours if outside of scheduled maintenance shifts for shuttle services. Ideal candidates will posses a valid driving license with a motor vehicle background check that allows us to add them onto our insurance policy, the ability to be flexible with scheduling, the ability to remain calm and professional, work independently, self-motivated, and detail oriented.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to work with little supervision, is detail orientated and able to remain focused.
  • Ability to stand for long period of time and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to push/pull/bend/lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to maintain a composed, approachable and professional attitude.
  • Possession of valid driver’s license and evidence of insurance
  • Driving record that is acceptable per our current insurance carrier guidelines
  • Ability to follow traffic regulations, avoid accidents, and adapt to existing weather and traffic conditions
  • Positive professional attitude, outgoing and friendly
  • Ability to handle pressure with poise and finesse
  • Ability to handle complaints and solve problems
  • This position is subject to successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle background check (driving background check) as it relates to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age for most positions within our properties, however some may require a minimum age of 18 depending on responsibilities, hours, as well as local/state/federal laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with building maintenance and working knowledge of heating/cooling and plumbing is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized maintenance workshop and storerooms.
  • Respond to maintenance requests with positive attitude, must be flexible as business demands may alter your assignments.
  • Become familiar and knowledgeable with hotel’s safety policies and emergency procedures.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure prompt repairs.
  • May be required to assist with snow removal, basic landscaping or assisting in other departments such as removing trash, arranging furniture, etc.
  • Inspect, repair and replace damaged or warn items such as heating/cooling units, dry wall, light fixtures or plumbing.
  • Provides prompt, professional service by transporting them to/from specific destinations.
  • Ensures vehicle meets safety and security protocol by: Recognizing and correcting defects or issues via a daily physical inspection of the vehicle; Completing a monthly vehicle inspection report by examining the physical condition of the vehicle; Recording mileage and destinations via the Daily Mileage Log.
  • Ensures all traffic laws are obeyed while operating and parking the vehicle.
  • Maintains a clean van inside and out.
  • Acknowledges guests in a friendly manner; maintain a positive attitude and patience during interactions with guests.
  • Responds to guests’ inquiries about the hotel as well as services and attractions available in the local area
  • Listens to and assist guests in resolving issues or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean hotel parking lot.
