Hotel Houseperson
About The Position
The Hotel Houseperson supports housekeeping operations at Hollywood Casino & Hotel by stocking and delivering housekeeping supplies, linen, and other items to guest rooms; reporting maintenance needs and service issues; and cleaning and maintaining hotel areas. The role includes routine cleaning, deep-cleaning duties, and special projects such as flipping mattresses and moving furniture. The position pays $16.00 per hour plus an amenity fee of $1.00–$2.00 per hour, with a stated earning amount of up to $18.00 per hour including the amenity fee. Listed shifts are 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and employees at all levels.
- Ability to clean and replenish soft and hard supplies.
- Ability to move effectively and efficiently from floor to floor as needed.
- Knowledge of housekeeping practices and procedures.
- Ability to communicate in English and understand directions.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift and use hands, crouch, kneel, and remain physically active throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Stock housekeeping supplies and linen and deliver housekeeping-related items to guest rooms.
- Report maintenance needs and service issues as needed.
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures; vacuum, mop, sweep, shampoo carpets, clean and wax floors, and remove and dispose of trash and empty ashtrays.
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks and special projects, including mattress flipping and furniture moves, as needed.
