About The Position

We are currently looking for an Executive Housekeeper to join our Team! Our Homewood Suites in Canton has 98 spacious suites with full kitchens. We are just south of Boston, you can easily take the nearby 128 train to Boston. Gillette Stadium and Legacy Place are a 15-minute drive. Less than a mile away is the Blue Hills Reservation and Trillium Brewing. Our guests enjoy a self-serve beer and wine station and complimentary breakfast every morning. The Homewood Suites is one of the 50 hotel properties owned and managed by the award-winning hotel management company, Buffalo Lodging Associates. Buffalo Lodging Associates, a hotel management company based out of Canton, MA has put an emphasis on true hospitality since being founded in 1996. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Three years experience in housekeeping function in a hotel or similar industry
  • Two years in a supervisory capacity
  • Computer knowledge including intranet, Property management system
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Acceptable driving history subject to company approval

Responsibilities

  • Operation and management of the housekeeping and laundry departments to ensure maximum service quality.
  • Ensuring the overall cleanliness of the hotel including rooms and public areas.
  • Fostering a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management.
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards for both guest rooms and public areas and inspecting them to ensure that standards are met.
  • Training staff in all aspects of housekeeping including guest service.
  • Maintaining key control and lost-and-found and ensuring staff is trained to follow correct procedures for both.
  • Planning work schedules and room assignments with minimum disruption to guests.
  • Tracking financial and operating information on an ongoing basis to adjust plans, labor and other costs.
  • Producing accurate financial reports on time.
  • Ordering and buying cleaning supplies, linens and chemicals at the best prices.
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies and ensuring staff follows proper inventory/cost control procedures.
  • Maintaining physical product standards by managing preventive maintenance programs and by scheduling ongoing cleaning activities.
  • Supervising employees in the housekeeping department.
  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; planning, assigning, directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
