About The Position

The Hotel Front Desk Associate serves as the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities include checking guests in and out, managing reservations, handling inquiries by phone and in person, and addressing guest requests or concerns promptly and professionally. The associate will process payments, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems and applications.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents.
  • California Food Handler Certificate upon hire.
  • RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) Certificate upon hire.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred but not required for entry-level roles.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software (e.g., Opera Cloud PMS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Checking guests in and out, managing reservations, and handling inquiries by phone and in person.
  • Promptly address guest requests and concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with guests regarding hotel and local surroundings, and coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to maintain service standards.
  • Process payments, maintain accurate records, and operate various office and cleaning tools.
  • Address and resolve guest issues, coordinate activities and transportation, and ensure a safe and clean environment at the front desk.
  • Work closely with other departments, support colleagues, and step in to complete tasks when needed.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, services and local attractions.
  • Anticipate guest needs and offer personalized service to enhance their stay.
  • Manage reservations and room availability using the property management system.
  • Upsell rooms and promote additional services.
  • Answer phone calls and respond in a professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records, including guest information and billing details.
  • Coordinate with bell attendants to ensure a smooth service delivery.
  • Communicate guest requests to housekeeping, maintenance and other departments.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of guest information and adherence to hotel policies.
  • Follow safety protocols, including emergency procedures and handling lost and found items.
  • Other duties as assigned.
