About The Position

The Catalina Island Company is seeking individuals to join their team and create exceptional guest experiences. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems and applications.
  • California Food Handler Certificate upon hire.
  • RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) Certificate upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred but not required for entry-level roles.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software (e.g., Opera Cloud PMS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Check guests in and out, manage reservations, and handle inquiries by phone and in person.
  • Address guest requests or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Process payments, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with guests regarding hotel and local surroundings.
  • Operate various office and cleaning tools.
  • Address and resolve guest issues, coordinate activities and transportation, and ensure a safe and clean environment at the front desk.
  • Work closely with other departments, support colleagues, and step in to complete tasks when needed.
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
  • Anticipate guest needs and offer personalized service to enhance their stay.
  • Manage reservations and room availability using the property management system.
  • Upsell rooms and promote additional services.
  • Answer phone calls and respond in a professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records, including guest information and billing details.
  • Coordinate with bell attendants to ensure a smooth service delivery.
  • Communicate guest requests to housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of guest information and adherence to hotel policies.
  • Follow safety protocols, including emergency procedures and handling lost and found items.
  • Other duties as assigned.
