About The Position

The Hotel Houseperson plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our hotel, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for our guests. This role involves a variety of tasks to support the housekeeping department and ensure all areas of the hotel meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Requirements

Ability to perform repetitive motions; lift, bend, stoop, walk, push, or pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods of time.
Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
Ability to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
Flexible availability to work any shift/day, including holidays and weekends.
Comfortable with using a radio to communicate with the front desk and housekeeping supervisors.
Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk public areas for extended periods of time.
Remain professional at all times, and treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect, under all circumstances.
Adaptable to changes in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.
Adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.

Responsibilities

Assist with flipping mattresses and moving furniture as assigned by Supervisor.
Assist room attendants to maintain high standards of quality.
Hang draperies as required.
Dusts furniture and equipment.
Polishes metalwork and furniture.
Collects soiled linens for laundry and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closets.
Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies.
Refurnishes room with supplies, towels, etc. as required.
Supplies own cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift.
May deliver television sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, and roll-a-way beds to guest rooms.
May clean swimming pool.
May remove debris, clean driveways, and garage areas.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and locker rooms and other work areas.
Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.
Wash walls, windows, door panels, sills, ceilings, and woodwork.
Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
Required to be always in uniform when working on the property including wearing a name identification badge.
Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
All other duties assigned by a manager or supervisor.
