The Hotel Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times. This role requires a demonstrated flexibility to handle a wide range of highly complex and challenging duties throughout the hotels, with extreme care, focused attention, and skillful precision. The technician must maintain a positive attitude, a friendly and outgoing personality, and the ability to make a child’s day memorable while working as part of a team. Essential functions include prioritizing safety by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following instructions for handling materials based on their Safety Data Sheets (SDS). The technician must adhere to applicable building codes, ordinances, and regulations, including OSHA, and always follow LEGOLAND California policies and procedures. They may be required to assist in various maintenance-related tasks based on department needs and employee capabilities, ensuring compliance with internal maintenance, safety, and security procedures, including ASTM, NEC, State and local electrical codes, and loss prevention guidelines. The role involves following established maintenance programs, including emergency repairs, and operating simple machine tools. Recognizing equipment needing repair, replacing, or adjusting and reporting it to a supervisor is crucial. Tools, machines, and company equipment must be kept in clean and proper working order. Attending department training, supplemental courses, and seminars is necessary to stay updated on technical information and products. The technician acts as a liaison with fellow maintenance MCs and other departments, responding to emergency calls within the hotels as directed. The ability to work outdoors in any weather condition, stand/walk for long periods and long distances, and have flexible availability around resort peak and non-peak times is required. The role also requires the ability to work nights/weekends/holidays through agreed-upon employment and advising the supervisor/management of any discrepancies in equipment or tools. Ensuring all assigned work is completed with good workmanship is essential. The position requires experience in basic painting, plumbing, drywall repair and patching, electrical, and carpentry. Staying informed and updated on modern techniques and technical methods is also a requirement.
