About The Position

Twelve Downtown, Autograph Collection is seeking a dependable, hands-on Hotel Engineer to help maintain the safety, appearance, comfort, and functionality of our hotel. This position performs preventive maintenance, responds to guest and operational service requests, troubleshoots equipment, and completes repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, responds with urgency, and understands that a well-maintained property is essential to both the guest experience and hotel operations.

Ability to support fire-life-safety, emergency-response, and property-loss-prevention procedures
Ability to coordinate respectfully with other departments to minimize disruption to guests

Responsibilities

Respond promptly and professionally to guest-room maintenance requests.
Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, mechanical spaces, and back-of-house areas.
Diagnose and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building issues.
Inspect rooms and equipment to identify maintenance needs before they affect guests or operations.
Maintain heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and other hotel systems within the scope of the position.
Complete assigned work orders accurately and document repairs in the hotel’s maintenance system.
Communicate unresolved or significant issues promptly to Engineering leadership.
Assist with routine inspections, equipment testing, meter readings, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, ladder safety, chemical handling, and use of personal protective equipment.
Maintain clean, organized, and secure engineering workspaces.
Support fire-life-safety, emergency-response, and property-loss-prevention procedures.
Coordinate respectfully with Housekeeping, Front Office, Security, and other departments to minimize disruption to guests.
Assist with special projects.
