The Hotel Engineer is responsible for daily maintenance and overall upkeep of guest rooms, common areas, waterpark and pool areas, and hotel grounds. The role follows company policies and property manuals, works toward maintenance goals, and performs project-related and other duties assigned by the Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Property Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or General Manager. The position works eight hours per shift, five or six or more days each week depending on occupancy and staffing demand. Weekend and holiday work is required as business demand calls for it. The Hotel Engineer completes work orders through the property management system, performs preventive maintenance, maintains pool and waterpark equipment and chemical standards, and responds promptly to guest-related issues. The role also supports regulatory compliance, safety, cleanliness, and a positive guest and team-member experience across the property. This position requires physical work indoors and outdoors, including standing and walking for much of the workday, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Most work is described as taking place indoors, with the ability to tolerate varying outdoor temperatures. Smoky Mountain Resorts describes itself as a third-generation, family-owned and operated hospitality resort company committed to its community and its “Spirit of Hospitality.”
