About The Position

The Engineer performs preventative and repair maintenance to ensure the hotel is maintained according to established quality and sustainability standards, while treating guests warmly and in a friendly manner. The role includes inspecting rooms, carrying out repairs and maintenance across hotel spaces and equipment, maintaining records, following applicable codes and safety standards, and supporting guest satisfaction. The employee may also work as a bell attendant during staffing shortages or peak check-in and check-out periods.

Requirements

Previous engineer or maintenance experience, or equivalent training, is required.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma.
Trade school coursework in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings.
Paint designated areas and items.
Install or replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
Repair furniture.
Install, replace, and program televisions.
Perform minor plumbing functions.
Replace and repair heating and cooling pumps and perform preventative maintenance on units.
Trace and repair water lines.
Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
Perform and maintain work in accordance with local, state, and Federal codes.
Monitor guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
Work as a bell attendant during staffing shortages or peak check-in and check-out periods.
Follow Service Recovery Guidelines.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
