About The Position

The Hot Shot Driver assists with daily hotshot work and reports to the Shop Manager. The role involves preparing and inspecting the hotshot truck, connecting it to a trailer, securing and delivering equipment, and completing related paperwork. The driver must follow traffic laws and applicable DOT rules and regulations. The job requires local availability; housing is not provided. Duties may include other assigned work.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in the oilfield preferred.
• Valid Class-A CDL required.
• Air brakes qualification or experience required.
• Experience driving and backing a trailer required.
• Familiarity with Bakken oilfield locations and safety required.
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends.
• Ability to communicate with crew and supervisors.
• Average reading and writing skills, including the ability to read location directions and accurately prepare tickets and reports.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Detail-oriented, accurate record keeping.
• Well organized.
• Must be local; housing is not provided.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of oilfield experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete required paperwork relating to loads.
• Perform a daily pre-trip inspection of the hotshot truck, including checking oil and tire air pressure and confirming the truck is in working order.
• Hook up and unhook the truck to the trailer.
• Ensure paperwork is in order for deliveries and drop-offs.
• Secure loads on the trailer using ratchet straps to belly wrap.
• Deliver equipment to locations.
• Follow traffic laws while traveling to locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
