About The Position

Luxfer Superform operates from Riverside, California, specializing in Superforming of aluminum alloys as a 1st Tier supplier to major OEMs. Established in 1974, Superform serves customers in all major markets including aerospace, automotive and rail industries. We are seeking candidates with experience in operating hydraulic presses used in the manufacture of components from aluminum sheets utilizing HOT PRESS manufacturing. To further support our operational needs, the role may encompass training on additional functions such as bandsaw, metal shearing, plasma cutting, clean line operations, tool preparation, etc.

Requirements

  • Two or more years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Experience on the following machines is preferred, but not required - Hot Forming Hydraulic Press, Forklift, Plasma Cutter, Clean Line, Tool Prepping, 5-Axis, CNC Machining, Haas, Fagor Controls.
  • Ability to read blueprints preferred.
  • Knowledge of inspection tools also preferred.
  • Familiar with safety requirements in manufacturing areas.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare material for SPF forming including, but not limited to, pulling designated material, shearing material to size, and preparing, loading and unloading tools for use in forming aluminum parts.
  • Monitor and assure parts meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Safe operation of the hot forming press.
  • Prepare formed parts for the next process, including but not limited to, plasma cutting, clean line and trimming.
  • Perform minor maintenance to the machine when needed.
  • Perform inspection of parts using measurement tools (calipers, height gauge, etc.).
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Accurately, and in a timely manner, complete all Production and Quality Documents supporting AS9100 requirements.
  • Follow all Safe Operating Practices and Company Safety Procedures, ensuring a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Ability to work in a professional manner, following all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
  • An essential function of this position is the ability to arrive to work on time, as scheduled, in strict adherence to the Time and Attendance Rules Policy.
