Hot Press Machine Operator – 2nd Shift
About The Position
Elmet Technologies is hiring a Hot Press Machine Operator for its 2nd-shift manufacturing operations in Coldwater, Michigan. The role operates specialized hot press equipment to manufacture advanced metal products. The operator sets up and monitors machinery, handles materials, inspects products, records production information, and supports quality and equipment reliability while following safety and manufacturing procedures. This is hands-on work in an active industrial environment with elevated temperatures; appropriate protective equipment and safe work practices are essential. The position offers opportunities to learn specialized equipment and develop technical manufacturing skills.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning specialized equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and established production procedures.
- Basic math skills and ability to complete production documentation accurately.
- Attention to product quality and process requirements.
- Comfort working around industrial machinery and elevated temperatures.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a manufacturing team.
- Ability to promptly communicate equipment, quality, or safety concerns.
- Dependability and commitment to working safely.

Nice To Haves
- Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or industrial production experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience using measuring or inspection equipment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor hot press equipment according to work instructions and production requirements.
- Load and unload materials and safely handle parts, tooling, and production equipment.
- Monitor temperature, pressure, cycle times, and other process parameters to maintain product quality.
- Make equipment or process adjustments within established operating procedures.
- Perform in-process inspections and verify products meet required specifications.
- Identify equipment or process issues and communicate concerns to Production, Maintenance, or Quality.
- Complete production, quality, material, and equipment documentation accurately.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic operator maintenance.
- Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work with team members to support production schedules and quality requirements.
