About The Position

The Hostperson/Cashier greets and welcomes guests, offers prompt and courteous service so the guests have an enjoyable experience, and provides point-of-sale service. This role requires honesty and trustworthiness, and associates must pass appropriate security clearances. The position involves preparing and maintaining the dining area, closing out shifts by cleaning and restocking, maintaining safety and security practices, and ensuring guests receive the highest quality product and service. The role also requires ensuring brand standard documentation is completed and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Honesty and trustworthiness.
  • Pass appropriate security clearances.
  • One year experience in a food and beverage position.
  • Prior cashier experience with chain food and retail outlet preferred.
  • Ability to perform major life activities: Standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
  • Ability to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach.
  • Ability to see and hear.
  • Ability to communicate with other associates and/or guests.
  • Knowledge of standards of operation as required by brand.
  • Knowledge of area shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions to assist guest inquiries.
  • Knowledge of daily hotel operations, check daily events, bulletin boards and be up to date on changes, new procedures and events.
  • Knowledge of the entire property, staff, services, hours of operation, type of rooms, locations, rates, and discounts.
  • Computer literate to thoroughly operate property management system: post charges, compute bills, collect payment and make change.
  • Organization skills needed to assign stations, inform servers of responsibilities, process room service orders, and keep restaurant in a clean, orderly and guest ready manner.
  • Ability to multitask and remain associate and guest service centric.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests and associates.
  • Ability to solve guest issues with professionalism and maintain a hospitable attitude.
  • Ability to market and promote to increase exposure and sales.
