About The Position

Colville Transport is seeking a safety-focused, dependable, and customer-oriented Hostler / Local CDL Driver to join our Anchorage operations. This is a local, in-town position responsible for safely moving trailers, supporting daily yard operations, assisting in the warehouse, and ensuring equipment is positioned efficiently to support our transportation team. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Class A CDL vehicles.
  • Experience operating straight trucks, tractor-trailers, and doubles is required.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Endorsement required.
  • No intrastate-only, automatic transmission, or air brake restrictions.
  • Current Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Meets all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) driver qualifications.
  • Forklift experience required (certification preferred or ability to become certified).
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and fitness-for-duty examination.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hostler or yard driver experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform in-town trailer moves between company facilities and customer locations.
  • Conduct yard hostling operations, including positioning and organizing trailers.
  • Operate tractor-trailers with single and double trailer configurations.
  • Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move freight and materials.
  • Assist with warehouse operations and daily warehouse activities as needed.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Assist with routine inspections of equipment and facilities.
  • Perform minor vehicle and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Supervisor.
