About The Position

Colville, Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety focused CDL Driver / Hostler to join our Solid Waste operations in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. This position combines commercial driving, waste operations, and hostling responsibilities to help keep equipment, trailers, and materials moving safely and efficiently throughout our North Slope operations. Employees work a rotational schedule and stay at Brooks Camp while on shift. If you are an experienced CDL driver who takes pride in safe operations, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable working in Arctic conditions, we encourage you to apply.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Previous commercial driving experience
  • Experience operating tractor trailers and maneuvering trailers in confined or active yard environments
  • Strong commitment to safe driving and equipment operation
  • Ability to safely perform vehicle and equipment inspections
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Dependable and able to work independently when required
  • Ability to perform physical duties associated with the position
  • Ability to work extended shifts in a rotational environment
  • Ability to safely work in extreme Arctic weather and changing conditions
  • Current Medical Examiner's Certificate
  • Must meet applicable FMCSA driver qualification requirements
  • DOT pre employment drug screening
  • Criminal background check
  • Motor vehicle record review
  • Fit for duty or medical evaluation as required
  • FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse

  • Waste hauling, hostling, or North Slope driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles in support of Solid Waste operations
  • Move and position trailers, containers, and equipment throughout designated yards and work areas
  • Perform hostling duties and ensure trailers and equipment are positioned safely and efficiently
  • Operate waste collection vehicles and other assigned equipment
  • Pick up, transport, and deliver solid waste and materials as required
  • Conduct pre trip and post trip inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment
  • Identify and report maintenance, mechanical, and safety concerns
  • Secure loads and equipment in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Complete required logs, inspection reports, and other documentation accurately and on time
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, customers, and other team members
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Maintain vehicles, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
  • Work safely in extreme cold, snow, wind, reduced visibility, and changing road and site conditions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support Colville operations
