About The Position

The Host welcomes guests to fl.2, creates an engaging and efficient arrival experience, and helps maintain the restaurant’s reservations, seating flow, and service standards. The role includes escorting guests to tables, managing reservation information, responding to enquiries, and supporting restaurant operations. The Host also assists Restaurant Managers as assigned and follows hotel safety, sanitation, opening, and closing procedures.

Requirements

• Valid U.S. work authorization is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong guest-service orientation.
• Ability to balance conflicting priorities while providing guest service.
• A calm and warm manner.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mid-shifts, weekends, and holidays.

• Previous experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests to fl.2 in a friendly, engaging, and efficient manner.
• Escort guests to their tables and point out features of the restaurant.
• Create and maintain excitement at the entrance, including recognizing guests by name.
• Balance the OpenTable reservation system and accurately account for covers.
• Assist with phone enquiries and reservation requests.
• Monitor the restaurant’s tables and the flow of patrons.
• Take ownership of the restaurant and service flow.
• Maintain menus appropriate to the service period.
• Assist with requisitioning.
• Provide service in accordance with Fairmont and hotel standards.
• Stay aware of daily hotel business and guide guests accordingly.
• Follow daily opening and closing procedures.
• Assist Restaurant Managers as assigned.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
