About The Position

The Host welcomes and serves restaurant guests courteously, quickly, and efficiently, creating a warm and positive experience. Hosts work in a customer-service-focused environment at TravelCenters of America and help ensure travelers leave better than they arrived. The role includes learning menu items and promoting daily specials, processing customer transactions, prioritizing work around kitchen and guest needs, maintaining equipment, following food safety procedures, and communicating effectively with leaders and co-workers. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer and POS knowledge preferred.
• Previous food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Be knowledgeable about menu items and promote daily specials.
• Process customer transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) register.
• Prioritize work according to kitchen and dining guest needs.
• Maintain equipment according to operating standards.
• Follow proper safety procedures when handling and/or preparing food.
• Build strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
