About The Position

The Restaurant Host is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring efficient seating and guest flow. This role manages reservations, greets guests, and supports the front-of-house team to deliver excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Basic computer or reservation system knowledge (e.g., OpenTable, Toast)

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression
  • Manage reservations and waitlists using a seating system
  • Escort guests to tables and provide menus
  • Coordinate seating to balance server sections and maintain efficient service
  • Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries
  • Communicate wait times accurately and keep guests informed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
  • Assist servers and management with guest needs when necessary
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
