About The Position

The Host or Hostess welcomes, greets, and seats guests in a gracious, accommodating, and professional manner, providing accurate information about the restaurant and its operations. The role is expected to deliver 100% guest satisfaction in accordance with established LEV Group standards. Essential hospitality standards include recognizing guests enthusiastically, making eye contact, smiling, speaking first, engaging in polite conversation, and using guests’ last names.

The position also involves handling reservations, answering guest questions, maintaining clean host stations and menus, and staying informed about the menu, restaurant activities, hours, promotions, and events. The role requires frequent standing and movement, with some computer work and physical tasks such as lifting and reaching.

Requirements

• Excellent guest-service and hospitality skills.
• Self-motivation, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to listen effectively, understand guest needs, and clarify concerns and issues.
• Ability to be flexible and perform multiple tasks effectively.
• Friendly, open disposition and professional presentation.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Host or Hostess in the fine-dining food and beverage industry.
• At least 1 year of OpenTable experience.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, potentially for an entire shift; intermittent sitting and computer work may also be required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds; heavier lifting must be done with assistance.
• Ability to read and visually verify information in a variety of formats, including small print, and visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
• Ability to move quickly, turn from side to side, reach overhead and below the knees, and bend, twist, pull, and stoop.
• Wrist flexibility to scoop, twist, push, pull, lift, and bend.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests by greeting them according to company standards.
• Resolve customer issues and respond to queries in a timely and efficient manner to ensure satisfaction.
• Escort guests to and seat them at their tables or reserved tables.
• Maintain a high level of customer service and stay alert to guests’ needs.
• Handle telephone and in-person reservations and document them in the OpenTable system.
• Maintain the cleanliness of hostess stations, menus, and drink menus.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu, including daily specials.
• Keep current information about restaurant activities, operating hours, promotions, and events.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
