About The Position

Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests. Escort guests to tables. Take reservations and maintain reservation book. Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests. Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members. Cheerfully and courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extend congenialities ensuring restaurant’s standards of service. Take, record and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellations as specified in departmental standards. Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room at all times. Assist in monitoring the guests’ needs and all phases of the restaurant operations. Oversee all aspects of restaurant during absence of Restaurant Manager and/or Supervisor. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, specials, liquor/beer/non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurant. Maintain good guest relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses. Inspect tables and stations, ensuring that all set-ups meet the department standards. Check throughout the meal period. Relay deficiencies to respective team members and follow up on corrections. Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in department standards. Extend courteous departures as guests leave the restaurant. Ensure tables are cleaned and reset according to standards. Report any missing/found articles or equipment/property damage to the Supervisor. Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel. Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with proper grammar in English.
  • Must be 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Dependable.
  • Must be aware of the importance of safety and security.
  • Endeavor to be conscious of safety and security at all times.
  • Friendly and courteous to guests and fellow team members at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous one (1) year experience preferred.
  • Restaurant service experience desirable.
