The Host is responsible for greeting guests upon arrival according to IHG standards, answering telephone communications, taking reservations, and attending to special guest requests. This role promotes the image of the restaurant by displaying impeccable manners, diplomacy, and tact towards guests. The Host also ensures compliance with the hotel's health, safety, and hygiene policy, reports issues to the Supervisor or Manager on duty, and follows procedures for cash handling and bill presentation. Additionally, the Host attends pre-meal briefing sessions, checks the Opentable System, ensures menus are clean, greets guests warmly, displays appropriate napkin colors during dinner service, assists guests with chairs, presents menus and wine lists, promotes buffet options during breakfast service, and offers parting comments as guests exit. The role also involves obtaining a minimum number of GSTS per day and performing other assigned duties.
