Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and employees.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently.
  • Must adhere to uniform/appearance requirements.
  • Ability to appreciate and be friendly with all Harrah’s Gulf Coast Team Members who are of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform job.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to preform these operations using units of American money.
  • Ability to tolerate cigarette/cigar smoke and e-cigarette vapor.
  • Responds to visual and aural cues.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to stoop, reach and bend as necessary.
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months to One year of previous cashier experience preferred.
  • Literacy and fluency in Vietnamese or Chinese Language a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Accurately process payments for food and beverage purchases
  • Follow all cash handling procedures and internal controls
  • Respond to guest inquiries and escalate concerns when needed
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and team members
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
