About The Position

The Host position at Mattisons City Grille requires a passion for the guest and a commitment to exceeding service standards. The ideal candidate will create a memorable experience for every guest, from their first impression to their last. This role involves engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner, managing wait times, answering menu questions, coordinating seating with the Front of House staff, and processing to-go orders accurately. The Host is also responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the host stand and the store, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines, and assisting servers and food runners as needed. This position requires the ability to work in a high-energy, demanding environment and collaborate effectively within a team.

High School diploma or GED.
Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment.

Able to work unsupervised for extensive periods, and to demonstrate good judgment when dealing with customers and peers.
Ability to work various shifts in a 7/365 team-oriented environment.
Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively, in English.
Strong self-motivation, leadership, and organizational skills.

Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
Proficiency required in reading, writing, and mathematics, in English.

Perform essential job functions such as standing, bending, reaching, climbing on a ladder, and walking long distances.
Standing for long periods of time and the ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

Exceed First Class Service standards and behavior with guests, business partners, and peers.
Create a lasting first and last impression.
Engage with guests in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner.
Provide accurate wait time and monitor waiting lists.
Use knowledge of menu to answer guest questions.
Coordinate with Front of House staff regarding available seating.
Seat guests, ensuring proper server rotation is maintained.
Process to-go orders quickly and efficiently in the point-of-sale system, handling cash, credit, and debit transaction accurately.
Maintain store appearance with respect to merchandising and maintenance standards.
Follow safety and sanitation guidelines; comply with all applicable laws.
Respond appropriately to customer concerns.
Ensure a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked host stand.
Assist servers and food runners, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
