About The Position

The Private Dining Club Host at Rockefeller Center will work closely with Dining Club management to ensure the experience is at the levels of the most highly rated restaurants in the United States. This position requires extensive time on the mezzanine level welcoming and attending to Dining Club member preferences.

Requirements

  • Fine dining expertise
  • Exceptional interpersonal verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience with managing a VIP clientele.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi-task and work under pressure while still being detail oriented and personable.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
  • Prior customer service experience in an upscale environment highly preferred.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Must adhere to all company specific safety policies.
  • Be able to understand and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Work cooperatively with other team members.
  • Able to take direction and constructive feedback from Management.
  • Must have open availability including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in the work environment.
  • Highest level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle guest demand(s) in a hospitable manner.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Initiative and adaptability required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet, greet and interact with members and their guests in a professional, friendly and hospitable manner.
  • Direct guests to the appropriate destination.
  • Coordinate special events and manage crowd control.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities as required.
  • Assist when needed in table settings and general dining room duties.
  • Communicate any issues to Management.
  • Contact appropriate individual or department as necessary to resolve guest inquiries, situations and/or complaints.
  • Assure that Guests are adhering to Rainbow Room Dress Code Standards.
  • Changing the number of place settings per table at the client or guests request if changes occur during the event.
  • Adding or taking away a complete table if the guests count or number of tables need changed.
  • Be able to handle high stress situations when dealing with guests and the public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
