About The Position

The Host position is responsible for creating a positive and memorable guest experience by providing exceptional hospitality. This role involves welcoming guests warmly, answering questions, managing wait times, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Host also contributes to a positive team environment and maintains the restaurant's standards for cleanliness and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly by smiling and making eye contact as they enter the restaurant.
  • Answer guest questions regarding flow, food, beverages, the restaurant, and the restaurant’s story.
  • Keep guests entertained and engaged while waiting or in line.
  • Lead guests at their own pace to a clean, perfectly set table and hand the appropriate menu(s) to each guest after they are seated.
  • Maintain awareness of available tables in the dining area and always know of a party 'on deck' to be seated.
  • Communicate with servers and managers regarding table availability, seating arrangements for large parties, or special requests.
  • Handle guests' complaints by listening to their concerns, informing a manager promptly, and resolving issues.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Arrive to work on time as scheduled, well-groomed in the proper work attire, and ready to work.
  • Clock in and out as scheduled.
  • Demonstrate a helpful and positive attitude towards guests and team members.
  • Complete all assigned tasks and duties.
  • Check the greeter area and its storage areas for adequate supplies.
  • Review potential wait times and work with managers to plan seating arrangements.
  • Assist fellow team members as needed.
  • Check out with a manager before leaving at the end of each shift.
  • Inspect restrooms, dining room, and lobby, clean as needed, and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor dining area tables to ensure they meet or exceed standards (e.g., proper table setup, full napkin dispensers, swept floors under tables, etc.).
