About The Position

The host or hostess is the critical first impression of the restaurant and is empowered to create memorable guest experiences. The position welcomes guests, coordinates seating and reservations, maintains dining-room setup, and helps ensure effective communication between shifts and management. The Lions Den is part of The Stoneleigh, a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel in Uptown Dallas, and is scheduled to open on May 1, 2026.

Requirements

Ability to comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders, and similar written materials.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
Ability to move through a crowded room to seat guests, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to handle customer complaints and concerns in a friendly, positive manner by listening, showing empathy, and providing proactive solutions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Meet and greet guests, offer seating choices, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
Maintain the logbook and make daily entries to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
Maintain the proper setup of the dining room.
Receive and record reservations and make necessary arrangements for restaurant reservations and special functions.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
