About The Position
Hard Truth Distilling Co., the #1 Destination Distillery in the Midwest, is seeking energetic, guest-focused Hosts/Hostesses to join our front-of-house team. As a Host, you’ll be the first impression of our brand—welcoming guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating, and ensuring smooth front-of-house operations. Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent organization and multitasking abilities
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Basic computer skills for reservation and seating systems
- Ability to remain calm and friendly under pressure
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Comfortable navigating crowded spaces
- Must be 16 years or older
- Weekend availability required
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests with a friendly, professional, and energetic attitude
- Manage reservations and seating assignments using our reservation system
- Maintain an organized host stand and front-of-house area
- Provide accurate wait times and manage guest expectations during peak hours
- Escort guests to tables, present menus, and highlight specials or promotions
- Assist with special requests, including accessibility needs, high chairs, and preferred seating
- Answer guest questions, resolve concerns, and communicate issues to management
- Coordinate with servers and front-of-house staff to maintain smooth guest flow
- Maintain strong menu and beverage knowledge to assist guests
- Manage the waitlist during busy periods and keep guests informed
- Support cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the front-of-house
- Thank guests upon departure and gather feedback to enhance the guest experience
