About The Position
Fairmont Empress is seeking a Full-Time, Seasonal Host to join their team from July to October. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant, greeting and seating guests, and providing concierge services. The Fairmont Empress is recognized as the #1 Best Canadian Hotel in Travel + Leisure's 2024 World's Best Awards and is a Forbes recommended and MICHELIN key hotel.
Requirements
- A minimum of one (1) year recent experience (in the last five years) as a server or host in an “a la carte” dining setting in an upscale, high volume restaurant
- "Serving It Right" and "Food Safe" Certification
- Impeccable grooming and presentation
- Completely fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
- Clear, precise, professional and helpful telephone manner
- Knowledge of organizing reservations and service flows
- Driven and focused on maximizing capacities
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritise
- High level of responsibility and commitment
- Team player with proven success in relationship building
- Commitment to providing excellent service and exceeding guests' expectations
- Comprehensive and current knowledge of local attractions, events, restaurants and transportation information
- Ability to anticipate guest needs
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with OpenTable is considered an asset

Benefits
- Hourly pay rate of $23.54 to $26.90
