About The Position

Our restaurant is looking for a hospitality professional with a passion for the art of presentation to join our team as a Host. The host is the critical first impression of the restaurant, and therefore is empowered to create memorable guest experiences. In a professional and friendly manner, they will greet guests, show them to their table or waiting area, or assist them in signing up for the waiting list.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a hospitality, restaurant, or fine dining environment preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with a commitment to creating a welcoming and positive experience for residents and guests.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly greet, assist, and respond to guest needs.
  • Positive, professional, and friendly attitude with the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and assist where needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and seek clarification when needed.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce waiters name;
  • Offer choice of seating based on guests’ party size and server’s availability;
  • Inform Guest of current promotions and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handbook to the service staff;
  • Engaging with guests to ensure they’re happy with food and service;
  • Read, maintain and make daily entries in the logbook to coordinate communication between shifts and management;
  • Maintain proper set-up of the dining room;
  • Remain knowledgeable of the menu;
  • Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant;
  • Engage with guests by providing great customer service;
  • Keep Host station neat and organized;
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
