A little taste of your day-to-day 

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, and then escort them to the table and present menu. 

Inform servers for new guests. 

Maintain an accurate waiting list as needed; advise guests when seating is available. 

Control the reservation book. 

Answer host stand telephone promptly and courteously. 

Maintain knowledge of table numbers and seating capacities for the shift. 

Inspect tables and buffets for proper settings. 
Assist team with side work, clearing tables, and other tasks as requested when not actively working the host stand.

Ensure proper lighting and heating in the area; ensure proper volume of background music.

Requirements

• The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling
• A good grasp of reading, writing and basic math
• The flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
• Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to

• Open Table experience is a plus.
