About The Position

The Host person is responsible for ensuring the prompt recognition and seating of all guests at the Restaurant as assigned and assists the servers in providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests throughout their dining experience. This role requires adherence to the company's Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life, and participation in all hotel required meetings and trainings. Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag, is essential. The Host will greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner, be attentive to guests’ needs, and assist in providing a pleasant dining experience. Responsibilities also include preparing cashier reports at the end of the shift, taking reservations, ensuring menu quality control, performing opening and closing duties, answering the telephone according to standards, and having complete knowledge of room service order standards and menus including current specials. The Host will assist servers and cashiers as needed, understand state liquor laws, ensure overall guest satisfaction, and abide by all resort policies and safety rules. Other duties may be requested by management.

Requirements

  • Responsible Beverage Service Certification (required in compliance with California laws)
  • Food Handlers Certification (required in compliance with California laws)
  • Must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time during customary service hours.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop or reach as needed.
  • Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States (confirmed through E-Verify)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner.
  • Be attentive of guests’ needs assist in providing a pleasant dining experience.
  • Know how to prepare cashier report at the end of the shift.
  • Know how to properly take reservations for outlets.
  • Ensure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearance.
  • Perform opening and closing duties according to established side work checklist.
  • Must be able to answer the telephone according to standards.
  • Have a complete knowledge of standards of service for receiving a room service order.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in all applicable departments.
  • Assist servers and cashiers in the servicing of guests as needed.
  • Know and understand the state liquor laws.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Assist servers/server assistants when needed.
  • Abide by all resort policies and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
