FAIRBANKS HOST/HOSTESS
About The Position
The Host/Hostess provides fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff. The role welcomes guests, seats them according to rotation requirements, maintains seating and reservation documentation, and monitors table availability. The Host/Hostess also helps maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining room and cashiering area, assists wait staff and bus persons as needed, and completes assigned closing duties. The role promotes current casino events and programs, provides directions around the casino, and helps guests return to play.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Availability to work the required schedule, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Meet professional appearance standards prescribed by company policy and maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance, good posture, and poise throughout the shift.
- Physical mobility with reasonable accommodation, including the ability to respond to visual and oral cues.
- Ability to reach above and below the shoulder; grip small items; bend, stoop, and twist while carrying restaurant stock; reach across tables; stand and walk for up to four hours; and use hand motions when cleaning and wiping menus and tabletops.
- Ability to tolerate industry-standard cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, second-hand smoke, noise, and bright lights.
- Ability to work at a fast pace in an often crowded and noisy environment.
- Physical ability, with reasonable accommodations, to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 pounds, and to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance while performing duties in varying work areas, including confined spaces.

Responsibilities
- Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff.
- Greet and welcome each guest entering the restaurant.
- Seat guests according to specified rotation requirements.
- Maintain proper seating and reservation documentation.
- Monitor the restaurant for table availability.
- Keep the designated work area clean and organized; help maintain dining room and cashiering-area cleanliness in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Assist wait staff and bus persons as needed, including refilling water glasses and coffee cups, helping pre-bus and bus tables, and attending to guest needs.
- Complete assigned closing duties at the end of the shift.
- Know and promote current casino events and programs, and give guests directions to casino areas.
- Thank customers, invite them back, wish them luck, and make it easy for them to return to play.
