About The Position

Greets and seats customers in a way that contributes to the smooth, efficient operation of the restaurant, while keeping the area around the front entrance and hostess station clean and orderly. The role also supports dining-room operations, handles customer inquiries and orders, and completes assigned opening and closing duties.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or be in the process of obtaining one.
Some prior experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a seating chart for each shift and know the rotation order.
Distribute daily specials to the various stations and update the whiteboard with the day's specials.
Check the POS computer for reservations.
Greet and seat members and guests courteously and promptly; communicate seating delays and start a waiting list when needed.
Assign a server to each newly seated table and help ensure servers have a similar number of guests.
Accommodate customers' special needs and communicate them to the appropriate staff.
Assist dining-room staff during busy periods by cleaning tables when possible.
Answer the telephone professionally, make reservations, take to-go orders, and answer customer inquiries.
Write down messages for employees and deliver them when possible.
Communicate customer or employee difficulties to management.
Maintain knowledge of the full menu and restaurant information, including hours and accepted payment types.
Enter to-go orders into the computer, print receipts, and prepare the necessary to-go items, condiments, food items, and utensils.
Complete member and guest check transactions on the POS computer.
Complete opening and closing duties according to approved procedures.
Immediately communicate health or safety concerns and violations to management.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
