The Host at Elm Tavern is the first and last point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for every dining experience with warmth, professionalism, and effortless hospitality. Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar size establishment.
  • Previous Guest Service experience.
  • Comfortable working in a fast -paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must possess Smart Serve.
  • Efficient and quick to learn.
  • Pleasant attitude, outgoing personality.
  • Good organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language (Written and Verbal).
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, seamless, and memorable experience for every guest.
  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
  • Manage reservations and walk-ins efficiently, ensuring seating flow meets service standards
  • Communicate wait times accurately and keep guests informed
  • Assist with guest inquiries, providing information about menu highlights, specials, and hotel amenities
  • Maintain a polished presence and positive attitude throughout service
  • Ensure dining room and entry areas are presentable, organized, and aligned with Elm Tavern’s standards
  • Support the smooth coordination between front-of-house and kitchen teams
  • Uphold service standards and Elm Tavern presentation guidelines
  • Contribute to a comfortable, sophisticated, and approachable dining atmosphere
  • Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth service flow
  • Assist colleagues during peak periods and special events
  • Participate actively in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and professional team culture
  • Be a proud ambassador of the Elm Tavern and Chelsea Hotel experience.
  • Represent the hotel and Elm Tavern with professionalism, enthusiasm, and pride
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel services, promotions, and events
  • Support operational excellence and sustainability initiatives
