About The Position

South Florida’s beacon of hospitality, Pier Sixty-Six Resort, has returned to Fort Lauderdale. The resort is a 32-acre waterfront enclave featuring 325 guest rooms, suites, and villas, 91 Private Resort Residences, 12 restaurants and lounges, a spa, curated pool options, and a waterfront promenade. The Resort employs over 600 Team Members dedicated to creating memorable experiences and stellar service. Pier Sixty-Six aims to foster a caring culture with state-of-the-art facilities, a first-class employee dining room, and a focus on individual welfare and wellbeing. We are seeking a well-rounded and seasoned Fine Dining Host/Hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate will be friendly, outgoing, and possess fine dining experience. As the first point of contact for guests, you will provide a warm welcome and ensure their dining experience begins positively. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. Reporting to the outlet General Manager, the Hostess/Host will support and provide excellent service at our new fine dining signature restaurant, a high-volume establishment requiring a passion for personalized service and guest engagement in a dynamic environment offering luxury products and services.

Requirements

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual
  • Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
  • Must have effective communication skills
  • Ability to implement and uphold service standards
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
  • Ability to interact with all associates and guests of the resort
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED recommended
  • Some College experience or Degree recommended
  • Bilingual language preferred
  • Previous hostess experience in a professional setting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon arrival
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
  • Assist in seating Members and guests according to seating chart or guest preferences
  • Manage waitlist during peak hours and provide accurate wait time estimates
  • Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and dining area
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and efficiency
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate with peers, management, line, and front-of-the-house employees
  • Practice effective listening: (seek to understand)
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property
  • Adhere to proper grooming, dress and uniform standards as set forth by Resort policy
  • Be courteous to all guests and coworkers
  • Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Employee Handbook
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all outlet offerings and resort information.
