Host/Hostess- Salt Wood Restaurant
About The Position
Greet and escort guests to restaurant tables in accordance with established guest service and sustainability standards. Salt Wood Kitchen & Oysterette is the culinary destination of the Monterey area, featuring three distinct dining environments: a full-service dining room, lively bar and lounge, and al fresco dining patio. Our experiential oyster bar and central live-fire kitchen act as the heart and hearth of the restaurant. From cocktails on the patio to large group parties held in our multifunctional meeting space and private dining rooms, Salt Wood offers an experience like no other.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet and escort guests to the dining table and present menu.
- Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
- Maintain proper set-up of the dining room.
- Assist as needed or requested with service.
- Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
- Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
