About The Position

Unidine is hiring immediately for a part time HOST/HOSTESS position. This role is responsible for seating residents in the dining room and handling customer service situations as they arise. The ideal candidate will help create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean, and neat environment for guests and other associates. This position requires exceptional communication skills, flexibility, patience, and an interest in people. A high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information is also necessary. The role involves supervising the activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling, and sanitation procedures are followed. Additionally, the Host/Hostess will assist with training new food-service team members, supervise the closing of the assigned dining room, and ensure side work and station setup are properly completed. Knowledge of emergency safety procedures and the ability to assist in evacuating guests during emergencies are also key responsibilities. The role may involve assisting with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards. Operation of equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines may be required. Collaboration with staff from other departments for job duties and special events is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • 1 year of prior host experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly and warmly greets and directs guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements.
  • Helps create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promotes a safe, clean and neat environment for guests and other associates.
