About The Position

The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for residents, families, and guests, creating a welcoming, professional, and hospitality-focused dining experience. This position greets and seats residents and visitors, manages dining reservations and seating arrangements, supports special events, and coordinates dining room flow to ensure exceptional customer service. The Host/Hostess works collaboratively with the culinary and dining services teams to promote resident satisfaction while maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting dining environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for serving others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer-service and hospitality skills with a focus on resident satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, and team members.
  • Basic knowledge of dining room etiquette.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with culinary and dining staff to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Professional demeanor, patience, and sensitivity when assisting older adults.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome residents, families, guests, and visitors in a warm, courteous, and professional manner; manage seating assignments and dining reservations to ensure an efficient and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Coordinate dining room flow by communicating effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and leadership regarding resident preferences, special accommodations, wait times, and seating availability.
  • Prepare and maintain dining room readiness by ensuring host stations, entry areas, menus, dining rooms, and waiting areas are clean, organized, and presentation-ready before, during, and after meal service.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating private dining reservations, special events, holiday meals, and community functions while providing exceptional hospitality to residents and guests.
  • Support resident satisfaction by building positive relationships, responding promptly to questions or concerns, and communicating feedback to dining leadership to enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, resident rights, and safety standards.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including HIPAA and the Code of Conduct, completing required training and reporting concerns promptly.
