About The Position

Culinaire is hiring a part-time Host/Hostess at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The position is responsible for greeting and seating guests, responding to customer-service situations, and helping provide an enjoyable, safe, and clean dining experience. The host/hostess also supports dining-room operations, including supervising food-service associates, helping train new team members, overseeing closing tasks, and assisting with service as needed. Days and hours may vary, and weekend availability is required. Previous hosting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Promptly and warmly greet guests and direct them to tables according to availability or requested seating arrangements.
Help create an enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean, and neat environment for guests and associates.
Supervise dining-room food-service associates to ensure proper customer service, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
Help train new food-service team members.
Supervise closing of the assigned dining room and ensure side work and station setup are completed properly.
Know emergency safety procedures and help evacuate guests in the event of a fire or other emergency.
Assist with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food-handling and sanitation standards.
Work with staff from other departments on job duties and special events or functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
