About The Position

Culinaire is hiring a part-time Host/Hostess at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. The role is responsible for seating guests in the dining room and handling customer service situations. The Host/Hostess helps create an enjoyable, safe, clean, and neat dining environment; works with other departments during regular service and special events; and may assist with bussing and food service. Days and hours may vary, and weekend availability is required. Previous hosting experience is preferred. The advertised pay rate is $17.00 to $19.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet guests and direct them to tables based on availability or requested seating arrangements.
• Help create an enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean, and neat environment for guests and associates.
• Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
• Supervise food-service associates in the dining room to ensure customer service, food handling, and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Help train new food-service team members.
• Supervise closing of the assigned dining room and ensure side work and station setup are completed properly.
• Know emergency safety procedures and help evacuate guests to safety in the event of a fire or other emergency.
• Assist with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food-handling and sanitation standards.
• Work with staff from other departments to perform job duties and support special events or functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
