About The Position

A Bloomingdale’s Hostess/Cashier Professional is an essential part of the customer experience, serving guests who stop in for frozen yogurt or seating guests meeting for a sit-down meal. The role helps deliver an engaging restaurant experience through stellar service, knowledge of menu selections, and awareness of store events. Bloomingdale’s restaurants offer creative culinary dishes and aim to provide a distinctive dining experience. This is a part-time position at the Chestnut Hill location. The role requires a flexible schedule during retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. It also involves prolonged standing and walking, occasional reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping, frequent use of computers and other technology, and frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of related experience.
Ability to communicate effectively and present information clearly and concisely.
Enjoys interacting with customers.
Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; may need to reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop.
Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.
Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Greet guests courteously and eagerly, and inform them of wait times.
Accommodate guests when needed.
Use the register knowledgeably and proficiently, including processing register transactions.
Provide stellar service and demonstrate knowledge of menu selections and awareness of store events.
