About The Position

Parker Personal Care Homes (PPCH) is seeking dedicated, honest, and responsible individuals or couples to provide Host Home services for adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities in your own home. This role involves offering compassionate care and support, including personal care, problem-solving, community safety, skill development, increasing independence, and managing challenging behaviors or medical needs. Providers must offer a safe and supportive home environment, assist with daily living activities, recreation, socialization, health and safety, and medical appointments. PPCH provides all necessary training, including developmental disabilities, CPR, First Aid, medication administration, behavioral safety, and member rights. Specifically, PPCH needs providers with NO small children living in the home who are willing to serve individuals with specialized behavioral needs, including the possibility of property damage, for which compensation will be provided.

Requirements

  • Must have NO small children living in the home.
  • Must be willing to provide services and support for 1 member in your own home on an on-going basis.
  • Must successfully complete PPCH’s required training courses.
  • Must be able to chart individual daily member activities and medications in a web-based system (training is provided).
  • Must have professionalism and compassion.
  • Able to focus on individualized care and support.
  • Ability to teach others.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must clear background screening and reference checks.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Office Suite, or similar software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required.
  • Couple or dual-provider home preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for the member(s) in services in their home.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the individual living in their home.
  • Ensure the individual has plenty of opportunities for socialization and access to community resources.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, recreation and socialization, health and safety concerns and medical appointments.
  • Chart individual daily member activities and medications in a web-based system.
