About The Position

Parker Personal Care Homes (PPCH) is seeking dedicated, honest, and responsible individuals to provide compassionate care and support to adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities within the provider's own home, integrating them as part of the family. This specific role is for providers who have no small children living in their home and are willing to support a Tier 7 individual, potentially with specialized behavioral needs and a propensity for property damage, for which compensation is provided within the daily rate. Providers are expected to create a safe and supportive environment, assisting with personal care, problem-solving, community safety, skill development, increasing independence, and managing medical and behavioral needs. PPCH provides all necessary training for providers to succeed, including developmental disabilities, CPR, First Aid, medication administration, behavioral safety training, members' rights, and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • No small children living in the home
  • Must be able to provide services and support for 1 member in your own home on an on-going basis
  • Must successfully complete PPCH’s required training courses
  • Able to chart individual daily member activities and medications in a web-based system
  • Have professionalism and compassion
  • Able to focus on individualized care and support
  • Ability to teach others
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must clear background screening and reference checks
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Office Suite, or similar software
  • Must be willing or able to work with an individual that may engage in property damage

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care and support to adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities in your home and as a part of your family
  • Offer services and supports that might include personal care, problem solving, safety in the community, learning new skills, increasing levels of independence, managing challenging behaviors and/or medical needs
  • Provide a home that is safe and supportive
  • Assist with activities of daily living, recreation and socialization, health and safety concerns and medical appointments
  • Ensure the health and safety of the individual living in their home
  • Ensure members will have plenty of opportunities for socialization and access to community resources
  • Provide services to members with specialized behavioral needs
  • Be willing or able to work with an individual that may engage in property damage
  • Chart individual daily member activities and medications in a web-based system
