Host(ess)/Cashier - Fire & Grain
About The Position
The Host(ess)/Cashier assists restaurant management in overseeing guest service and satisfaction at Fire & Grain in Hershey Lodge. Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and seating charts, handling telephone calls, completing opening and closing procedures, controlling cash, settling guest charges, and responding to guest questions and concerns. The role also helps oversee service, safety, and sanitation to ensure quality. This is a part-time position with flexible eight-hour shifts for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale computer and calculator.
- Proven employee and guest relations, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Professional image representative of the company image.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and handle cash.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a loud environment.
- Ability to work a flexible eight-hour shift, including breakfast, lunch, or dinner and weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Previous restaurant service experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival and seat them according to their requests and server rotation.
- Complete opening and closing procedures, including cash control and settlement of guest charges.
- Coordinate reservations and seating charts and answer telephones.
- Oversee service, safety, and sanitation to ensure quality.
- Respond to guests’ questions, requests, and concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
