About The Position
Sylvia's Restaurant, a Harlem institution founded in 1962 by Sylvia Woods, is seeking Hosts/Cashiers with an enthusiastic and welcoming personality to join their team. The Host/Cashier is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for guests by ensuring prompt, friendly greetings and swift accommodation. The cashier role involves managing cash and credit card transactions, while the host role includes seating guests according to the table seating chart and availability.
Requirements
- Have a great work ethic and commitment to uncompromising Hospitality
- Have the ability to maintain a welcoming personality in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
Nice To Haves
- Restaurant Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Enthusiastically greet & welcome guests entering restaurant
- Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs to provide the best guest experience
- Answer telephone calls with a smile and respond to inquiries or transfer calls
- Maintain the restaurant with regards to cleanliness, neatness and customer accessibility
- Work as a team member to support other restaurant employees in their duties
- Follow directions on other duties as assigned by the Management team
