About The Position

The Host/Cashier position will support F&B Supervisors/Restaurant Manager by greeting and seating guests, handling money transactions for products and services, managing wait times, clearing tables, and processing check transactions. The role aims to achieve optimal efficiency and profitability. Responsibilities include menu development and SOPs for food preparation. This position does not involve casino gambling functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • The position requires fast paced service, excellent customer service skills and the ability to read, write, speak and understand English, distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols and be involved in daily professional communication.
  • The position requires math skills and the ability to multi task, basic food, beverage knowledge, such as (fluid measurements, size, shape, color, price, portion size, etc.) as defined by hiring management.
  • The position requires money handling experience with credit card and cash transactions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and ensure that daily work performed is conducted within HACCP guidelines.
  • Required to comply with safe and hazard free work environment practices stipulated in Horseshoe Indianapolis, County/State/Federal Department of Health and OSHA policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Position requires employee be certified in Serve Safe Food Sanitation, Serve Safe Alcohol Awareness, and Indiana State approve Alcohol Training.
  • Hold an Indiana ATC (Alcohol & Tobacco Commission) License, and IHRC (Indiana Horse Racing Commission) Occupational License.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 (one) year experience in the Food & Beverage Service Industry as a Restaurant Host / Hostess and or Cashier or similar position is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, seat guests, rotate guests through server stations, manage wait times, side work, etc.
  • Process payment in the form of cash, credit card, comp, travelers check, player’s club points, and side work, etc.
  • Assist with Table Reset as needed per specifications.
  • Maintains standards of kitchen sanitation and cleanliness, as well as the safe handling of food & beverage products.
  • Communicate on a consistent basis with supervisor keeping them abreast of all department activities.
  • Ensure that bar and equipment are in good working order and that the work area is clean and hazard-free.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if bar and equipment are not in good, safe working order.
  • Possess the ability to work with Co-workers and Management in a casino restaurant environment, involving high volume or gourmet, fast paced production in a friendly and professional manner.
