About The Position

Pottawattamie County Conservation is hiring part-time seasonal Hospitality and Guest Services workers who are enthusiastic and customer-oriented. This position will run from November through March or the duration of the ski season. Individuals in this role will be responsible for ensuring guests have an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive until they depart. This will include communicating with guests and handling their inquiries, answering phones, responding to emails, and handling guests ticketing needs. This is an opportunity to be part of the adventures at Mt. Crescent this winter.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of all ages.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team and foster a positive, fun, and safe work environment.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Must be fourteen (14) years old at the time of hire.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 months of experience working in the snow sports industry or hospitality preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to guest inquiries and accurately answer questions, providing information on all available activities.
  • Operate a POS machine, close out the terminal, balance the cash drawer, and complete necessary paperwork for sales.
  • Track front office supplies and retail items, notifying the supervisor of restocking needs.
  • Perform daily opening and closing tasks.
  • Accurately perform ticketing tasks for lift tickets, rental equipment, retail merchandise, season passes, and ski/snowboard school, both in person and via phone/email.
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments regarding business levels, group business, and special events.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact effectively with management and co-workers.
  • Perform additional tasks such as shoveling snow, taking out trash, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, wiping tables and counters, cleaning windows, sweeping/vacuuming stairs, stocking retail items, and cleaning stanchions.
  • Work in other departments when needed and perform other assigned duties.
